Helping Students Succeed In and Out of the Classroom
Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students) is a school-based prevention and education program that helps students make healthy choices, resist substance use, and build a strong foundation for future success. Through individual and group sessions, classroom presentations, and school-wide campaigns, we guide students to develop coping skills, confidence, and resilience.
Project SUCCESS program components:
-
-
The Prevention Education Series is an 8-session Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug prevention program conducted by the Project SUCCESS facilitator in the 7th & 9th grade classrooms.
-
Individual and group activities are conducted for new students, non-users, seniors, and at risk students.
-
Project SUCCESS includes parents as collaborative partners in prevention by sharing information through the Coalition newsletter and including them in SADD activities throughout the year.
-
Referral-Students who are identified as at-risk for substance use are assessed and referred to appropriate agencies or practitioners in the community.
-
School-wide awareness activities are conducted with student participation to influence attitudes and norms about substance use and related high-risk behaviors.
